Terms & Conditions
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before participating in the Verve Loyalty Program (“Reward Programme”).
Persons who are under 18 years of age are not permitted to participate in the Reward Programme.
By participating in the Reward Programme, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions as amended at any time and posted on the Reward Site. If you disagree with any part hereof, do not participate in the Reward Programme.
1. Definitions
- “Account” means your personal page containing information on your participation in the Reward Programme.
- “Issuing Bank” means a financial institution that issues Verve payment Cards.
- "Points" means the points earned and redeemed under the Reward Programme.
- “Rewards” means the products and services which are listed at the time of redemption on the Programme Site.
- “Reward Site” means the website portal of the Reward Programme at loyalty.myverveworld.com.
- “Third Party Participants” means merchants who provide opportunities to redeem points under the Reward Programme and who are listed on the Reward Site.
2. DESCRIPTION OF THE REWARD PROGRAMME
- 2.1. The Reward Programme is operated and managed in Nigeria by Verve Card Services Limited (We/Us). We are an Affiliate of Verve International, the owner of the Verve card scheme, and are authorized to manage and operate the Reward Programme.
- 2.2. The Reward Programme is a point-based rewards program targeted at Verve card holders. Verve cardholders are eligible to earn points when they perform eligible transactions. Earned points can be redeemed at Verve’s appointed redemption partner.
3. REWARD PROGRAMME PARTICIPATION

3.1 To participate in the Reward Programme, you must:
- a. Be a Verve cardholder in any of the loyalty participating banks listed on the Reward Site.
- b. Meet the prescribed activation and usage targets, as prescribed from time to time and communicated to the User.

3.2 You will earn points in the Reward Programme only on Eligible Transactions. Eligible Transactions are successful transactions done on the following channels: Automated Teller Machine, Point Of Sale Terminals and Web. Transactions that are unsuccessful or reversed will not qualify as an Eligible Transaction.

3.3. You will only earn points on Eligible Transactions made with a Verve debit card.

3.5. Once you have redeemed your Points, they will be deducted automatically from your Point balance and these deducted Points can no longer be credited back to your Point balance.

3.6. When participating in the Reward Programme you shall have access to the Reward Site.
4. COMMUNICATIONS

Your email address and phone number provided to your Issuing Bank will be used as a means of communicating information, notices and documents to you. Any changes to such information should be reported to your Issuing Bank to update and share with Us.
5. LOSS OF REWARD POINTS.

5.1 You may lose your right to earn or redeem points or any accrued points in the following circumstances:
- a. you fail to comply with any of the provisions of these Terms & Conditions.
- b. a fraudulent transaction is conducted with your Verve card.
- c. your bank account linked to your Verve card has been closed by the bank or placed on Post No Debit status.
- 5.2 The extent of the applicability of section 5.1 above will be determined by Us. We shall notify you of such cancellation of your points or suspension of your right to earn and redeem points, without any other formality whatsoever.
- 5.3. In the event of your death, your points will be cancelled.
6. REDEMPTION OF REWARD POINTS

6.1. Points are deducted from your Point balance on your account on the Reward Site on a first-earned, first-redeemed basis.

6.2. You can only redeem your Points at Third Party Participants during a reward promotion period.

6.3. The Points have no cash value.

6.4. You can only redeem your Points against Rewards available at the time of redemption.

6.5. If, as a result of subsequent returns or cancellations of Eligible Transactions, you redeem more Points than you are entitled to, the amount of such Points will be due to Us and we will deduct whatever is owed from future Points you earn If you do not earn sufficient Points within 3 months following such excess redemption, We reserve the right to request payment of the due amount.
7. LIFESPAN OF POINTS
Each Point you earn will automatically expire 24 months from the date on which you earned same, without prior notice to you. In such circumstances such points will automatically be deleted.
8. NO LIABILITY FOR THIRD PARTIES
You acknowledge and accept that We provide no guarantee of the services rendered by Third Party Participants. We are not responsible for the actions of Third Party Participants or participating banks, including their withdrawal from the Reward Programme or for any point cancellation caused by such withdrawal or for any changes in, or discontinuance of, points or other benefits provided by Third Party Participants. For the avoidance of doubt, We are not liable for any loss or damage (including without limitation damages caused intentionally or by gross negligence or being in the scope not related to the Reward Programme itself) incurred as a result of any interaction between you and a Third Party Participant or a participating bank.
9. Termination
- 9.1. We reserve the right to terminate the Reward Program, or any part of it, at any time, by giving 30 days prior written notice. Such notice will specify the date from which you will no longer be able to earn or redeem Points. After the expiry of such period you shall not be able to redeem your Ppoints and all such remaining Points shall be automatically cancelled.

9.2. You are entitled to terminate your participation in the Reward Program at any time by giving Us 30days prior written notice.
- 9.3. We reserve the right to terminate your participation in the Reward Programme with immediate effect if you fail to comply with the terms and conditions for participation in the Rewards Programme.

9.4. In the event your right to participate in the Reward Programme is terminated for any reason, We will not compensate you for any unredeemed Points.
10. SECURITY
- 10.1. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any email addresses, login usernames, passwords and any other information related to your Account. It is your responsibility to keep all of these secure.

10.2. You are liable for all activities undertaken on your Account.
- 10.3. If you suspect any unauthorized use of your Account, you must notify your Issuing Bank immediately, to communicate same to Us.
11. PRIVACY STATEMENT
- 11.1. You acknowledge that by your participation in the Reward Programme, We shall be privy to and store some of your personal information (full name, mobile phone number and email address).
- 11.2. We shall use our best endeavors to ensure that your personal information is secure on our systems.

11.3. We may use your personal information for:
- a. providing you the Reward Program and sending you related information;
- b. providing, maintaining and improving our services;
- c. sending support and administrative messages to you;
- d. responding to your enquiries and requests;
- e. providing customer service;
- f. updating you on products, services, promotions, rewards, and events offered by Us and third parties; and
- g. a better understanding of your needs by combining it with information collected from others with the objective of improving on our service delivery.

11.4. We may disclose any information We collect about you to third parties as set forth below:
- a. to regulatory bodies;
- b. to financial institutions;
- to companies, such as email service providers that perform marketing services on our behalf;
- d. to third parties to enable Us provide the Reward Programme to you; and
- e. if required to be disclosed under applicable law, or stock exchange regulation or by a governmental order, decree, regulation or rule or by a court order.
- 11.5. You hereby consent to the processing and transfer of your information during and after your participation in the Reward Programme.
12. INDEMNITY
- 12.1 You agree to indemnify Us, and our subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents and employees for any loss, damages, liabilities, sanction, claims, suits, fines, charges, expenses due to or arising out of your participation in the Reward Programme.

12.2 You agree to indemnify Us and our subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents and employees for any loss, damages, liabilities, sanction, claims, suits, fines, charges, expenses arising from your violation of this Terms & Conditions.
13. LIABILITY
- 13.1 In no event shall We be liable for any special, indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, however caused.

13.2 Under no circumstance shall it be implied that We endorse, sponsor, certify or otherwise guarantee the sale or use of any Third Party Participant products and/services. Use and/or purchase of same shall be at your own risk.

13.3 For the avoidance of doubt, We are not involved in the provision of financial services of any kind and are only responsible for the management of the Reward Programme. Any questions or issues regarding your card or cardholder account should be directed to the Financial Institution that issued you the card. Unless as otherwise specified in this Terms and Conditions, none of the terms of any agreement between you and your Financial Institution has any effect on, or relationship with this Terms and Conditions.

13.4 You agree that We will not be liable for any damages suffered by you as a result of your participation in the Reward Programme. At no point in time can We be considered as the legal owner or supplier of the Rewards. For issues relating to the quality of the Rewards, you will contact the relevant Third Party Participants.
MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
- 14. We reserve the right to terminate, change, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the Reward Programme and Reward Site at any time and without notice.

15. We reserve the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time and at our sole discretion. We shall give you notice of such amendment by publication of the amended version on the Reward Site. Your continued participation in the Reward Programme is your acceptance of and compliance with the updated Terms & Conditions. If you disagree with any part do not participate in the Reward Programme.

16. All copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights used as part of the Reward Programme or contained on the Reward Site belong to Us or our licensors. Nothing set forth in this Terms & Conditions shall constitute a transfer, license or assignment by Us to you of any Intellectual Property Rights owned by Us or displayed on the Reward Site.

17. If any provision of this Terms & Conditions is declared unlawful and/or unenforceable by operation of law, any court or authority, such provision be severed from this Terms & Conditions and rendered ineffective so far as is possible without modifying the remaining provisions of this Terms & Conditions.

18. This Terms & Conditions shall be interpreted and enforced in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

19. The Parties shall use their best efforts to amicably settle all disputes arising out of or in connection with the performance or interpretation of these Terms & Conditions. Any dispute or differences arising out of the construction, interpretation or performance of the obligations created under this relationship which cannot be settled amicably within one (1) month after receipt a request for such amicable settlement shall be submitted to a Court of competent jurisdiction in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
